Lesson Plan for Tuesday, September 9, 2019
Today we will…
Talk about resources for your COMM class.
Are you accessing all of the helpful materials available to you in Blackboard? We’ll take a look together.
How well acquainted are you with your textbook? Are you engaging with it as an active reader? (The textbook is your friend!)
Meet our Peer Mentor!
We will also be meeting our Peer Mentor for this class, Elizabeth Cummins. A Peer Mentor is a student at TAMUCC who works with the Peer Mentor program in CASA. Peer Mentors work with Seminar classes to offer additional tips for making the transition from high school to college a smooth one.
Elizabeth will be working closely with us and attending our Seminar classes on Tuesday as her schedule and workload allow. She will help us with classroom activities and discussions about being a successful college student. She will also be in regular contact with our class via email to keep us abreast of campus activities.
Go through our notes for today’s POLS lecture.
What were the important concepts and examples from today’s class?
Discuss a Master Calendar
What is a Master Calendar? Why is it important?
Have you made one?
How do you plan to pace studying for exams and completing your homework? What do you do when you have multiple exams scheduled on the same day–or multiple homework assignments due on the same day?
Homework:
Make sure you read Chapter 3 for POLS, and be sure to review the chapter highlights on pages 121 – 124.
