Week 6 News
Hello, Seminar friends!
Please read the following important announcements for Week 6:
Attendance
As our syllabus highlights, attendance is an important part of your grade. You are allowed two absences during the semester, which means that missing two or fewer classes will not affect your grade. After you miss two classes, however, your grade will be affected. (If you have a serious reason for missing class, please be in contact with me.) See our syllabus for more information.
On a related note–class will always start at 2:00 PM (for section 484) and 3:30 PM (for section 487). If you come to class early, and I am not there yet, that does not mean that class is canceled.
If your professor (for any class) does not show up to class at the appointed time of class, it is common courtesy to wait 10 minutes after the start of class time before leaving.
If class is canceled, I will alert you as soon as possible via Blackboard announcement. It is highly unlikely that I will not come to class without telling you class is canceled.
POLS Exam Retake
The POLS exam retake is scheduled for Friday, October 4th at 2:15 – 3:30 PM in Bay Hall 103.
From Dr. Huerta:
Students taking MAKE-UP Exams may bring a page of hand-written notes (per the exam instructions).
Students taking RE-TAKE Exams are encouraged to review their exam results prior to taking the re-take exam (because the re-take grade replaces the original grade).
Office Hours this Week
My office hour from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on Friday is canceled. I will be assisting Dr. Huerta with the exam retake.
Homework Reminders
Seminar Journal 4 is due 10/1 by 11:59 on Bb.
Due 10/1: Part 2: You have your results back from the first exam. How did you do? Did you meet your expectations, or fall a little short? Now that you have the first exam out of the way, discuss your game plan for Exam 2 and if you plan on completing the re-take exam.
POLS: Mindtap for Chapter 5 is due 10/1 by 8 AM.
COMM: Interpersonal Theory Analysis is due by Midnight on 10/3.
That’s all for now! See you in class 🙂
