Hello, Seminar!
Please read through the following announcements for Week 9.
Seminar Mid-Term Grade
As we discussed in class on Thursday, Mid-Term grading is around the corner.
Mid-Term Grade Break Down
Total Possible Points: 250
Journals: 100 (includes Journals 1-5)
Attendance: 100 (Half of your total attendance grade for the semester)
Participation: 50 (Half of your total participation grade for the semester)
Notes:
Students are allowed 2 free absences. Your first two absences will not affect your grade. Additional absences will result in 20 points subtracted from your attendance grade. Excused absences are reserved for emergencies and serious health problems and must be cleared with me.
Consider your midterm grade a “progress report.” There is always room for improvement 🙂
There are 1,000 total points in the semester! That means there is still 750 to go (this will include your integrated assignment/FY Symposium as well as your final reflection).
Mid-Term Conferencing
I was able to meet with most of you on Thursday concerning your performance in Seminar and your other courses. I really enjoyed chatting with you!
If I was unable to conference with you during Thursday’s class, I will provide you with my mid-term notes for you, and you are welcome to visit with me about them during my office hours or after class.
