Registration
If you are planning to attend TAMU-CC in the fall, and you need help with anything related to registering for classing in the Fall, please get in touch with me. I can help answer questions or connect you to someone who can. Our CASA Peer Mentor, Jessie Baza, is also an excellent resource for questions and concerns about registration.
Changes to the Semester Plan
I hope everyone was able to see the announcements from Dr. Pool and me last week regarding the group project (a.k.a. comparison project). Here are the main takeaways:
–The project has been cancelled. There will not be a replacement.
–The points have been shuffled around to give you more credit for assignments you’re already doing.
–The Research Table is still in place. It was due April 17th, but it is now due on April 24th.
Listening Logs
If you received a somewhat lower grade on your Listening Logs, please view the notes I made in the “feedback to learner” box. Most often, the problem was missing elements of the assignment. If you are in this camp and you’d like to revise and resubmit, please let me know. (You do not have to revise and resubmit, however.)
Homework
For Week 12 in Seminar, we will be completing a discussion board. Please note: this is a discussion board on the Seminar Bb and is separate from the one for Music.
Prompt: Music can be a source of comfort, inspiration, and expression, especially during a crisis. Many students in our learning community noted that music was one of their primary means of coping with stress this semester.
- In your discussion board post, include two contemporary songs that have, in some way, helped you during this current crisis. Note the song title, artist, and genre for both songs. In a few sentences, share the general reasons why you connect to this song during these times. Next, what specific musical elements stand out to you and why?
- Finally, name one “art” song that you’ve been exposed to in MUSI 1306 that you find significant in the context of your current situation. Note the song title, artist, and genre for the song. In a few sentences, share the general reasons why you connect to this song during these times. Next, what specific musical elements stand out to you and why?
Due: Friday, April 17 by 11:59 PM
Please use this week to get a head start on your Research Table.
