Hello, Everyone & welcome to Week 13!
We are getting closer to the end of the semester (yay!). Let’s keep powering through ๐
Announcements
Financial Aid Available to Student via The CARES Act
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi students can apply for assistance using the online form located on the Office of Student Financial Assistance web site.
Here’s what the CARES Act entails.
Sonic Meditation
Here is a link to a Sonic Meditation that will be taking place on April 25th via Zoom. Described as a “mindful re-centering amid these frightful times,” this should be a lovely way to connect with others around the world that you may find interesting.
Misc.
If you are experiencing any difficulties with your Bb calendar not synching with your Bb assignments (including those in Seminar), you may contact IT at (361) 825-2692.
Homework
For this week, I want you to focus on completing your Research Table if you haven’t already. This is the only item due in Seminar this week. There will be no discussion board. The Research Table is due Friday, April 24.
This week, I am also assigning a Seminar Activity, but it won’t be due until May 1. Here’s a link to the assignment.
This activity is designed to help you think about the situations you have some influence or control over and those that are beyond your control. By doing so, we can help ourselves focus our energy on improving the situations we do have influence over. Furthermore, it is important to acknowledge the things we canโt control but are important to us. By honestly placing these situations in the category of โno control,โ we can make the mindful effort to worry less about them and consider our reaction to them instead.
Looking Ahead
Outside of Seminar, you have CR #2 due in Music on the 23rd, and your Math test will also open on the 23rd (and close on the 28th, 11:59 PM).
As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

Addendum:
Please fill out the following survey when you have the chance.
Music Appreciation Survey for the Online Conference
This survey is designed to gauge your interest and willingness to participate in the 2020 Virtual First Year Islander Conference. This virtual conference will showcase student work from the First-Year Learning Communities Program.
It’s a great opportunity to show off any work you’ve done in the LC that you’re proud of–while also staying connected to your peers in the First-Year program.
The conference will be asynchronous (meaning there won’t be live sessions to attend as there would be in a traditional conference). If you’re interested in this opportunity, your work will be published on a password-protected site. Having your work published is optional. We will not publish anything without your explicit written permission (which is what the survey will help with!).
